Great coffee. Wonderful service. Waffle and bacon very good. I would vote this place as the 'most like home ' place on the peninsula! Cozy. Will go back again for sure!

Had the fish boil and we enjoyed learning about the history. Friendly staff and the food was great. We got the single and that was more than enough. The fresh homemade cherry pie at the end was awesome!

When you're told you've got a wait of 1hr 40min at Al Johnson's (and you know that means probably more like just an hour), we figured to drive up to Carroll House since we hadn't eaten and we figured to see how busy it really was since they weren't picking up the phone. Got there and seeing a few empty spots in the lot with folks leaving was a good sign. They were clearing a table as we got in. We got the chorizo hash ($12.75) and a full order of the cherry stuffed waffles ($11.75 - half order option also available for $7.75, and this can be done with French toast instead). Tables are turned over quickly and there is counter seating too. Check the current menu at their Facebook page. You can see they've been trying out new things, particularly it seems Mexican inspired options. Closes in December for the winter and reopens in April. FB page will help you on exact dates.

Just wanted to give a shout-out to this little family restaurant. It is definitely worth a visit for delicious homemade food. I ordered the potato pancakes for lunch and they were so good! Next time we'll go earlier for breakfast.

Nice restaurant as you're entering Sister Bay, not quite downtown which is great for breakfast on busy days. Quick service, friendly, good food.

We had a great breakfast here this morning. Cherry waffles, eggs. Everything was delicious. We come every year and this was my dad's favorite place for waffles.
